Background and objectives

Sonderhoff Engineering GmbH (Hörbranz / Austria) is a technology platform for customised automated sealing, bonding and potting solutions. The SONDERHOFF technology platform comprises customised application-specific polymer chemistry and dosing technology from a single source - from their own development and production. Sonderhoff Engineering has been growing steadily for years. Limitations on the available production space meant extra space had to be leased. A new-build factory was therefore planned on a greenfield site in order to allow continued growth and to expand the space for high-tech machine production.

Implementation and challenge

MPS ARCHONIC's interdisciplinary team analysed the factory, research and administrative processes. Following extensive process optimisation and keeping the growth scenario in mind, the team dimensioned the space required in all areas and created a layout that optimised material flow. ARCHONIC then planned a new modern plant around these optimised processes.

A new factory with optimised processes in all areas and short distances between the production and administrative teams, fostering a greater sense of cooperation and belonging.
