Marquardt is a family-owned global leader in the manufacturing of electromechanical and electronic switches and systems. Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Rietheim-Weilheim, Germany, the company has a strong global presence and are renowned for maintaining high standards of quality in their facilities across the globe.

To support its continued growth and innovation efforts in India, Marquardt commissioned the development of a new Research & Development centre in Pune, Maharashtra.

Implementation and challenge

MPS ARCHONIC India was entrusted with the design and execution of Marquardt’s R&D center in the Hinjewadi region of Pune. 

Spanning 17,000 m² across Ground +  six floors with a canteen built with in house cooking, the facility is built to accommodate 900 employees and a dedicated laboratory space for 2.000 m². 

The design merges functionality with modernity, promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment tailored to high-tech R&D needs.

Key challenges included delivering high-quality infrastructure within strict timelines and budget,  implementing special engineering for the land profile because of highly contoured land parcel, integrating specialized technical requirements and aligning the design with Marquardt’s global standards.

Creation of a state-of-the-art Research & Development facility to support innovation in electronic component design and development with office space capacity for 900 employees and research lab of 2000 m².
