Background and Objectives

The Henkel Loctite Green High-end Adhesive Industrialization Base Project, recognized as Henkel Group's largest single global investment and a leading high-end adhesive production facility in China, has been designated as a major project for Shandong Province in 2024. With a total investment of 1.35 billion RMB and covering an area of 50,000 square meters, the project will construct 12 buildings, including R&D laboratories, industrial production workshops, and office buildings. It will incorporate over 500 sets of internationally advanced imported equipment, such as vacuum pumps, mixing reactors, presses, and mold temperature controllers, along with 67 modern production lines. The products will find extensive applications in various industries, including new energy, information technology, high-end medical devices, aerospace, and advanced equipment manufacturing.

Implementation and challenge

As the management company, the MPS ARCHONIC team assisted the owner in overseeing both general and subcontractors. Despite facing a tight schedule, heavy workload, large-scale construction, and unprecedented challenges such as prolonged summer rains and winter blizzards, the entire team worked in unison to ensure the project was completed on time and met all quality standards.

The result

An advanced intelligent production facility has been established, featuring top-tier automation technologies and an 8,000-square-meter smart warehouse. This system ensures fully automated storage, retrieval, and dispatch, delivering precision, standardization, and unmanned operations. Aligned with sustainability goals, the facility includes advanced energy management, water recycling, and ground-source heat pump systems. Powered entirely by renewable energy, it aims to reduce annual CO2 emissions by 5,000 metric tons and cut water usage by 25%. Committed to net-zero carbon emissions, this eco-friendly facility will set a new benchmark for sustainable manufacturing upon completion.
