DGS Druckguss Systeme, a leading Swiss manufacturer of die-cast components in diverse alloys, embarked on an expansion journey in 2013. By establishing a manufacturing facility in Nansha, Guangzhou, the company fortified its position as the pioneer in China to supply automotive lightweight metal designs, leveraging aluminum and magnesium die-casting technology for high-end structural automotive parts.

In 2018, DGS group signed the investment agreement with Rizhao Economic and Development Area for its new production facility in China, marking the inception of its second production base. This facility, specializing in aluminum and magnesium components for interiors, power transmission, and steering systems, aims to achieve an annual production capacity of 2.6 million automotive spare parts. MPS ARCHONIC, as the trusted partner, played a pivotal role in realizing DGS's vision of constructing a customized factory and offices adhering to Western quality standards.

Implementation and Change

The total construction area of the project is around 27.000 m², including steel structure workshop and warehouse, a 4-storey office building with top decoration, guardhouse and firewater tank, dangerous goods warehouse and auxiliary buildings. MPS ARCHONIC's comprehensive involvement of the project life cycle spanned from preliminary planning to engineering design, customized interior design, procurement management, and on-site supervision. Faced with the unforeseen soil condition and the client’s stringent requirement for the minimum of 10T + 20T floor loading requirement in the beginning of construction, MPS ARCHONIC devised professional solutions, balancing budgetary constraints, timelines, and quality standards to the client's satisfaction. Additionally, we facilitated client’s supplier procurement and most importantly managed interfaces during the subsequent execution phases, encompassing permanent power supply, process cooling water systems, crane installations, and natural gas connections. Our expertise in schedule control ensured seamless coordination for critical equipment relocation, enabling the client to meet their trial production targets within a compressed timeframe.

A new factory with the capacity of 12 production lines which shows proven good quality and a nice office with modern decoration. This milestone transformed DGS Rizhao Plant into the benchmark for the region, solidifying our reputation as a trusted and capable partner.
